Oracle offers different ways to store and provide binary files. The most known ways are the storage in a BLOB field directly in the database or just as a reference to an external file in the file system via a BFILE field. In this presentation, I would like to deep dive into the Database Files System (DBFS). Christian Gohmann is currently working as Principal Consultant and Instructor at Trivadis - Part of Accenture in Dusseldorf, Germany. His main focus lies in helping customers in the areas of architecture planning, implementation, and migration - with a specialization in high availability solutions, like Data Guard, Oracle RAC.Since 2006, Christian Gohmann is working with Oracle and the Oracle Database and was part of a huge amount of different projects for customers in the German-speaking areas.
