Today, containers and microservices architectures are the preferred style when building new business applications. Deploying applications to the cloud, regardless of cloud type, is becoming increasingly common in enterprises as they seek to leverage the pay-for-what-you-use model and improve performance, availability and security. What can an enterprise do with most of its applications in use today that still run monolithic architectures? In this talk, we'll cover cloud deployment options such as hosted, optimized, and cloud native, and capabilities like managed or serverless Kubernetes clusters, container instances, or serverless functions. Once deployed to cloud, applications can leverage managed cloud services for persistence, messaging, logging, search, analytics, etc. to accelerate the delivery speed and minimize operations overhead. We will also touch on an unified application lifecycle management of microservices and traditional monolithic applications across multiple Kubernetes clusters using Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform.
